A diplomatic mission leaves in two courier vessels to attend the disarmament conference on Joyeuse.
New terrorist outrages destroy Naval fuel facilities. Esperanzan Freedom Army claims responsibility.
The Esperanzan Freedom Army (EFA), a terrorist organisation which is believed to have extensive support from the Joyeuse government, today made an official statement (by unmarked video-chip to all major TV stations) that;
As the new government of our world is even more repressive than the last, and since the Navy is the principal instrument of that repression, we consider that all Naval installations and personnel are legitimate targets in our war against repression. As it is our wish to preserve the lives of as many innocent civilians as possible, we will target the main thrust of our new campaign on the refueling and refining facilities which keep the Oppressors ships in our skies.
Although most stations obeyed government directives to turn over such messages to the authorities, some did show the message. It was transmitted to perhaps 30% of the world’s population.
Three hours after the messages were broadcast four fuel tankage areas and two refinery complexes at various sites across the planet were damaged or partially destroyed by bomb blasts. Millions of credits of damage were caused.
A police spokesman said that extra personnel were being detailed to protect such facilities. The culprits are still being sought.
